For Love of Children received the Deloitte Spirit of Service Award at the HandsOn Greater DC Cares Impact Summit June 15, and was recognized for offering excellent academic services beyond the classroom to disadvantaged students in DC. With the award, FLOC was presented a $10,000 grant to strengthen organizational capacity and advance volunteerism. Meenu Arora, director of Deloitte’s federal human capital practice, said FLOC’s Neighborhood Tutoring Program, Scholars Program and Outdoor Education Center illustrate the commitment to bring quality, comprehensive resources to students. Additionally, Executive Director Tim Payne was a finalist for the Essence of Leadership Award at the Impact Summit.
